Seaweed is not just healthy to eat, it is also extraordinary for your skin. It is packed with countless essential vitamins and antioxidants. It is anti-inflammatory which is purifying and calming for your skin. Seaweed is known to help repair damaged skin cells and help protect the skin from harsh, everyday, elements so it makes total sense to add seaweed to your weekly skincare ritual. For those suffering from acne, the vitamins in seaweed can help ease the swelling and redness often associated with breakouts.
I am a huge believer that the best skincare mimics a healthy diet. I apply this face mask once a week and I like to make the most of this downtime by using it to reconnect with my crystals healing energies and meditate about the things I hope to accomplish. I believe that all self-nourishing rituals should include your favourite crystals. If you are new to crystals you don't need hundreds of stones to supercharge your facial experience just one crystal will do. I like to use rose quartz for love, amethyst for dreaming and aventurine to connect to nature and immunity. If you are new to meditation there are plenty of free meditation apps available just 5 minutes is all you need to start nourishing your soul.
Ingredients for your face food
- dried unflavored Nori seaweed (the kind used to make sushi)
- organic herbal tea ( I used chamomile and rose tea because it is packed with antioxidants).
Wash your face and pat it dry.
Brew your organic tea and place it on a plate with a lip so nothing spills over.
Cut or tear the seaweed into small pieces.
After the tea has cooled dip the seaweed strips in the tea to re-hydrate them. Just a few seconds otherwise the seaweed will fall apart.
Place the seaweed sheets all over your face and neck avoiding your eye area. Let the seaweed sit for approximately 15 minutes until it is ready to peel off.
Rinse off the remaining mask with lukewarm water. Pat the face dry and continue with your regular beauty routine.
